SERENDIPITY TEACHES AGES 4-5:
|
Similar to younger children, four & five year olds thrive in an environment of security and appropriate expectations. They are sensitive and appreciative, while needing nurturing and encouragement. However, because their cognitive, physical and social development is more advanced, they need a great deal of activity and opportunity for understanding the real world. Fours enjoy being read to, participating in groups activities and opportunities to explore. They are learning to listen, model language and actions of others, like to change tasks frequently and begin to use simple tools.
Some of the Learning Areas include:
Science- Hands on explorations of why and how things happen, animal life cycles and habitats, and parts of our body.
Math awareness- Fundamental number concepts, as well as concepts dealing with self-space and time are explored.
Reading Readiness Skills- Letter recognition is taught through games and fun stories.
Safety/Health- We strive to make children safety aware: by teaching important aspects of living a safe and healthy life.
Art/Music Appreciation is taught through group singing, dancing, and using rhythm band instruments. Creativity flourishes through the many different art mediums we use. All projects are sent home with the child for display.

| Lunches are provided for the children Monday through Thursday. Friday is our boxed lunch day. Please send your child with a healthy lunch from home on this day. We will provide snacks and juice daily. |
